Landowner Hunt

This is the first year that in any CWD zone anyone who owns 5 contiguous can buy a $2 landowner permit which is valid from Jan. 9 to March 31. Anyone that wishes to participate in this hunt has to have written permission from the land own and a $2 CWD hunters permit. I don't agree with how long this hunt is because by March 31 some bucks are going to start losing their antlers and people may shoot them thinking they are does.

Squirrel Hunting

For Christmas I got a Ruger .22 handgun and I decided to take it out for a test run. My Dad, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, and I went out on the 1st. I ended up getting two and my brother got four. My verdict on the pistol was that it would be a gun that is fun just for target practicing, but when it came to hunting it just wasn't practical because of all the moving you have to do.

New Year's

I usually do not come up with a New Year's resolution, but I decided that I was going to run 4 miles 6 of the 7 days of the week. I need to stay in shape for track and when I am in shape I just feel healthier.

Rabbit Hunting

Yesterday my cousin, Kellen, and I went out rabbit hunting. I had my .22 and my cousin had our 20 gauge. I ended up getting 5 and my cousin got 0. He was a terrible shot, he missed 4. I also had one of the sweetest shots of my life. One of the rabbits went into a hollow log so my cousin spooked it out with a stick and I shot it out of the air. I was pretty jacked.

Fall Turkey Season

Yesterday I went out mainly for the antlerless deer season that was going on, but since the Fall turkey season is open I brought my 12 gauge with me. About 20 minutes after I got settled down in my blind, I heard a turkey put. So I picked up my shotgun and get ready, a single tom walking into the food plot about 40 yards away, which is at the very edge of my kill zone so I decided to shot it. I got a good hit, but sometimes turkeys don't go down. I had to jump out of my blind to chase it down, tackle it and break its neck.

The Thanksgiving Hunt

On Wednesday evening I went out to my ladder stand. I was pretty tired from morning practice so I was dozing off a couple of times. Around 2 I heard a branch break and I looked over to my left and saw a doe fawn and I wasn't going to shoot a fawn so I kind of started falling asleep again and as I looked down I saw the doe through the my footrest. So I leaned over and shot her, she dropped on the spot.

Thanksgiving

I am thankful for living in the USA. I am also thankful for my family and all the people in my life. I am especially thankful for having the freedom that we have in the US because without that I would have so many things that I love to do.
